Who is Mrs. Arata?
I grew up in San Jose, CA. In high school I participated in cheerleading, swimming, and community service for neighboring schools, and athletic programs. I spent my undergraduate career at Santa Clara University where I received my B.A. in History. From there I went on to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo to earn my M.A. in History. Then I went back to Santa Clara University where I earned my teaching credential in History and my M.A. in Teaching. I completed my student teaching at Sobrato High School, where I was then hired. I spent two years teaching World History, AP World History, and U.S. History. I then moved back to San Luis Obispo, where I was offered the opportunity to teach at SLOHS.

In my free time, I love to spend time with my friends and family. I am an avid reader, baker, and cook. I am passionate about history, I mean really, I could talk about it all day. I also love coaching competition cheerleading (Olympics we are coming for you).
